Locanda del Feudo is set within the walls of the old town of Castelvetro di Modena, one of the most well-preserved medieval towns of the region Emilia Romagna. We are in the oldest part of the castle, which in its time was an Etruscan acropolis and later became a Roman military camp: a CASTRUM mentioned in documents dated 280 BC
Our building is an edifice of medieval origin that was remodeled throughout the centuries until it became as we see it today. The floor plan clearly displays the ancient CARDO (corresponding to the current Via Cialdini), the road of the Roman encampment in line with the cardinal axes SOUTH and NORTH. Our Locanda is located right next to this ancient road. The restoration of the building brought to light its ancient structure, which was then converted into six luxurious lodgings. From the windows of our suites and luxury suites you have an excellent view of the parade of “La Dama Vivente”, the most evocative event of the medieval town that is held every year in September.
